Colour Gone Wrong !

hi all im new here and have a problem, my friend has very light blonde hair and colours it herself with a shop bought ready colour, she has coloured her roots then combed it through the rest and it has gone a bluey colour in places this has never happened before and i have never come across this does anyone have any advice on how to resolve this ,
